Sitges is a town in the province of Barcelona in Catalonia, belonging to the Garraf. The town is located on the Mediterranean coast 38 km. south of the provincial capita.

Its famous by the film festival, first fantasy festival in the world and the one with the most media impact in Catalonia, which is also known as a gay-friendly city. Has a large tourist infrastructure facilities and three marinas (Port Ginesta, Garraf and Aiguadolç) is the city with most marinas in Catalonia being the largest marina in Europe.

Besides tourism trade population focused on fishing and subsequently shoemaking, economic activities have disappeared (except small workshops). One of his culinary specialties is Xató typical food served as dessert. There are also several places to visit like: Sant Bartomeu and Santa Tecla Church, The Romantic Museum and the Bacardi house.

Among its beautiful sandy beaches, monuments and museums, Sitges is perfect for a weekend getaway with the family.




Take the train R2 from  different railway stations of Barcelona: Estació de França, Passeig de Gracia and Sants station. The final destination of the train is Vilanova or Sant Vicens, take a look at the names that you understand the correct way to get to Sitges. Journey time is about 45 minutes from França Station, 37 minutes from Passeig de Gracia and 30 minutes from Sants Station.

The bus network is also quite extended and frequent Monbus is the company that handles the route departing from the Plaça Espanya and Ronda Universidad, lasting between 45 and 60 minutes.

It is also possible to take the night bus (NitBus): N30, N31 and N32. They range from Plaça Catalunya, Ronda Universitat and Plaça Espanya.
