Today the mention of Barcelona is associated with both architecture and design. Every year, many people come to Barcelona to admire the Modernism that characterizes it, especially the masterpieces of one of its worldwide leading referents, Joan Miró.

Joan Miró was born in Barcelona, in Passatge del Crédit, very close to Plaça Sant Jaume, in Ciutat Vella. He went to school close to home where at an early age already manifested an inclination for drawing. The first preserved drawings date as far back as 1901.

If we reach Barcelona by plane at the airport terminal 2, one of his most seen and famous works, a large ceramic tile in primary colors attracts our attention. After, the mosaic Pla de l’Os located in La Boqueria, not to mention the Joan Miró Park, are a reflection of the author’s fundamental features.

With no doubt, if we wish to appreciate his work in every way, it’s worth popping over to the Joan Miró Foundation located in Montjuic Park.
