The Barcelona Tourist Office offers valuable practical information about visiting the country. Barcelona Tourism has two main sites: one in the city centre in Plaça Catalunya, open daily from 08:30 am to 08:30 pm, and the other in Plaça Sant Jaume, in theGothic Quarter, open on weekdays from 8:30 am to 08:00 pm, on Saturdays from 09:00 am to 07:00 pm and on Sundays from 09:00 am to 02:00 pm.

Other tourist information offices are not that far from the top end of the Rambla just below Tallers Street, and again at the bottom end by the port of La Rambla (just behind the Columbus monument) and another at the main entrance of the Sagrada Família.

There are smaller offices at Sants train station, open daily from 08:00 am to 08:00 pm; more at the Palau de la Virreina, open from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 am to 09:00 pm and on Sundays from 10:00 am to 02:00 pm; and the Palau de Congresos, open daily from 10:00 am to 08:00 pm during fairs and conventions only.

For general information in English, dial 010 from 08:00 am to 10:00 pm every day except on a Sunday. El Prat Airport has an information desk with details on Catalonia open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 8 pm and on a Sunday from 9:30 to 15:00.

The tourist office at the Palau Robert, open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 07:00 pm, specializes in Catalonian provinces. From June to mid-September, information assistants patrol the Barri Gotic and the area of La Rambla from 09:00 am to 09:00 pm. They travel in pairs and are recognizable by their red shirts, white pants or skirts.
